Albuquerque, views that go for miles; Albuquerque, come and stay for a while A melting pot of cultures for three hundred years, It’s a unique town you’re always welcome here Ride the world’s longest tram; eat blue corn enchiladas hot from the pan Go to the The Pit, watch a Lobo game; if you miss the sunsets it’ll be a shame You’re gonna’ be happy that you came, now come on back any time you can Yeah, come on back again Albuquerque, views that go for miles; Albuquerque, come and stay for a while Sunshine most every day, hike or bike get outside and play Make it to the petroglyphs or the zoo; a botanical garden awaits you too Go to see the Isotopes swing their bats, or buy yourself a genuine cowboy hat You’re gonna’ be happy that you came, now come on back any time you can Yeah, come on back again Albuquerque, views that go for miles; Albuquerque, come and stay for a while The Rio Grande River runs through town, cultural happenings do abound Hot air balloons fill the sky; come October they do fly Get your kicks on Route 66 ; look for the landmarks in all those flicks You’re gonna’ be happy that you came, now come on back any time you can Yeah, come on back again Come on back, come on back, come on back, come on back, Yeah, come on back again

One door shuts, another opens A chapter comes to an end New beginnings once again And a chance to make new friends Keep moving forward, don’t look back A mistake is not a crime We all live our days, making our way One imperfect step at a time Chorus We find our way down life’s highway, we get battered and bruised Do the best that we can, what do we have to prove? Like rocks tumbling down a river, we get a bit smoother as we go Rough spots worn away, blow after blow Is the glass half full or is it half empty? Only you can decide It’s not a trick question, but get it right If you want to enjoy the ride When life serves up lemons Do you know how to make lemonade? Keep things in perspective Don’t let the world rain on your parade Chorus
3.
You paint the world a million different colors You make things beautiful for me Like wildflowers in a high mountain meadow You set my soul free Chorus: You are the woman, the woman of my dreams The one who’s always there for me it seems You stand beside me when everyone else is gone Your love is true, ooooooh so strong Your love always carries me along You’re like a garden full of delights And you share them freely with me Every season brings something new And through it all our love stays true Chorus: Love that lasts a lifetime is hard to find But our love has stood the test of time We’ve weathered the storms, found rainbows in the sky We’re sticking together you and I Chorus:

The fall of the year is a glorious time, down in New Mexico Green chilis are roasting, I love that smell so Always get carried away, buy about twenty pounds First thing I do is make some stew with plenty to go around Chorus: Green chili stew, green chili stew, It’s my favorite, I swear it’s true Green chili stew, green chili stew, warms your mouth and your insides too Green chili stew, green chili stew, It’s much better than barbeque Green chili stew, green chili stew, Green chili stew Green chili goes with anything, rice, corn, pinto beans Burritos, pizza, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, canned sardines Makes any sandwich a special treat, a green chili burger is swell to eat But in my view, green chili stew, just can’t be beat Chorus: Green chili stew, green chili stew, It’s my favorite, I swear it’s true Green chili stew, green chili stew, warms your mouth and your insides too Green chili stew, green chili stew, It’s much better than barbeque Green chili stew, green chili stew, it’s just downright good for you Green chili stew, green chili stew, picks you up when you’re feeling blue Green chili stew, green chili stew, Green chili stew

I’ve got a new girl friend, she’s prickly as a cactus All her friends call her Diamondback Alice Now, if you don’t treat her just right, you’re gonna find yourself in a big ol’ fight with Alice, Diamondback Alice She’s got a diamondback rattlesnake tattoo Wrapped all around her arm and her right hand too It’s got green beady eyes, that kind of take you by surprise, like Alice, Diamondback Alice Now she was born, on the wrong side of town Everyone putting her down, kicking her around Well, she broke a gal’s teeth in a bar room fight It got pretty rowdy and she slept in jail that night Next day I raised her bail and sprung her from the county jail Alice, Diamondback Alice Now, she stays wound up real tight But once you get to know her she’s alright She’s got a deadly kind of charm That lures you into her arms Oh Alice, Diamondback Alice, Alice, Diamondback Alice

Crooked Road 03:45
Coffee shops and roadside inns Out on the road again Glare on the windshield, glazed over eyes ‘Round the next corner might be a surprise Yeah, ‘round the next corner might be a surprise Chorus: It’s a crooked road from here to there A big world to discover if you dare Follow your dreams, it’s hard to go wrong Try something new, learn a new song Yeah, Start something new, sing a new song Don’t know what I’m lookin’ for Just need some fresh air A change of scenery would do me good Gonna’ follow that road to who knows where, Gonna’ follow that road to who knows where Chorus/Interlude I’m a nomad blown by every breeze A cloud that’s here and then gone A rolling stone, a tumbleweed The open road is my home, The open road is my home
7.
I’ve been wandering through this desert, for a year or two Lost all track of time; yes, its true I’ve become one with the land, don’t know if you can understand But I’ve become one with the land Chorus: Don’t need much living this way Just make it from day to day Hunt and gather like the natives did Findin’ my own way, Findin’ my own way My only friends coyote, and the wind that always blows Stars in the sky and cacti, a river that never flows Rattlesnake and raven, sometimes come around But roadrunner never slows down Chorus: Some people think I’m crazy, maybe it’s true But out here in the desert, nobody’s trying to rob you Don’t have doors to lock, no hate or greed So who’s crazy? You or me? Chorus:
8.
If you’ve been in New Mexico any amount of time You’ve no doubt met an acquaintance of mine You never see him but you know he’s there He messes with your mind, messes with your hair Chorus: He’s the wind, blowin’ again The wind, tumbleweed’s friend The wind, Well there ain’t no answers blowin’ in this wind Just the Land of Enchantment blues - blowin’ in the wind Does funny things to a man, when it blows and blows and blows Some have gone crazy, certified loco At first you mumble, then you start to swear The curse it grows and grows, follows you everywhere Chorus: He blows those tumbleweeds across the open plains Whistlin’ like a big ol’ freight train Piles ‘em up on fences, as high as they will go The unique signature of the wind that blows The wind bites hard in the winter, spreads pollen in spring Red eyes and allergies are a common thing Dries plants out in summer, Blows dust in the fall I believe that the wind is a pain for all Chorus:
9.
A back yard garden is a summer delight Vine fresh tomatoes every night Corn on the cob, turnip greens Chiles and melons, pinto beans But it just wouldn’t be, summer by gosh Without that prolific zucchini squash Chorus: Zucchini squash, zucchini squash, my house is awash in zucchini squash Every square foot occupied with squash waiting to be fried Or run through the Veg-O-Matic, destined for culinary magic Casseroles by the dozen, given to friends, neighbors, cousins It grows at night when I’m asleep, go out in the morning and take a peek Lo and behold there’s another crop to pick, zucchini squash sure grows quick Take my machete to make the work fast, pick another bushel, hope it’s not the last Chorus: If you’re travelling through our town, there’s a good chance a present will be found Park your car on any street, when you come back you will find your treat Look in the bag, what do you find? Zucchini squash fresh from the vine. Chorus:

I might have a few miles under the hood; But my old engine’s purrin’ good The paint job ain’t what it used to be; Days in the sun took a toll on me Chorus I’m a little bit past the prime of my life But if my skin sags, I’ll get the laser knife And if my hair grays, I’m gonna color it brown I’m young at heart, can’t get me down I’m young at heart, still want to paint the town My wife says my hearings going bad; I miss a few things and she gets mad Have a few wrinkles when I smile; But at least I haven’t gone senile Chorus I forget a few things every now and then; Have you seen my phone? think I lost it again I’m getting a bald spot on the top of my head; It could be worse, you know I might be dead Chorus

Strange Wind 05:02
A strange wind is blowin’, down the canyon tonight The campfire is glowing, But somethin’ just ain’t right The stars are out in numbers, they cover the whole sky Then one of them falls to the earth, burning up as it dies Spirits of the old ones, whisper in the night Wake me from my sleep, wake me in a state of fright Footsteps circle ‘round my camp, now I’m wide awake They don’t fade away ‘til the day begins to break I drink some coffee as the sun rises, try to clear my head Try to make some sense of that visit from the dead People lived here long ago, called this place their home These canyons are not empty, their spirits still roam A strange wind is blowin’, A strange wind is blowin’ A strange wind is blowin’, A strange wind is blowin’

Sun comes up Sun goes down World keeps turning Turning ‘round Turning ‘round, Turning ‘round Another day older Count my blessings as I go Don’t take my time for granted Once you’re young, soon you’re old Once you’re young, too soon you’re old Don’t put your trust In money or fame Gotta’ trust in the Lord Trust in Jesus’ holy name Trust in Jesus’ holy name Love your neighbor Prepare your soul One day you’ll meet your Maker Will you walk those streets of gold? Will you walk those streets of gold?

Like a candle without a flame, a song without a name A gambler without a dime, a poet without a rhyme I just can’t go on without you Like a soldier without a gun, the moon without the sun A puppet without strings, winter without spring I just can’t go on without you No, I just can’t go on without you by my side, keepin’ me alive No, I just can’t go on without you by my side, keepin’ my heart alive Like a beach without sand, a farmer without land A wagon without wheels, a rod without a reel I just can’t go on without you Like a lock without a key, a tree without leaves A bird without a nest, east without west I just can’t go on without you No, I just can’t go on without you by my side, keepin’ me alive No, I just can’t go on without you by my side, keepin’ my heart alive Like a ball without a chain, tracks without a train An ocean without salt, a bank without a vault I just can’t go on without you Like a candle without a flame, a song without a name A gambler without a dime, a poet without a rhyme I just can’t go on without you No, I just can’t go on without you by my side, keepin’ me alive No, I just can’t go on without you by my side, keepin’ my heart alive No, I just can’t go on without you No, I just can’t go on without you No, I just can’t go on without you
